Artic Conditions!
After not blogging anything for so long, then I am sure no one visits here anymore. Not even my own mother. I am shamed.
The last few days and nights have been cold. For two nights in a row we went under Zero degrees F! The back porch read -6.7F two night ago. That is out of the wind. Others got into the -10s. The state of NM is having gas and power problems. Texas has had rolling brown outs along with problems that arise during those. Their gas pumping stations did not deliver enough gas to NM and we have run low or out in places. Due to no-gas many folks have went to electric space heaters which has put a big strain on the electric grid here in NM.
Yesterday the Governor declared NM in a state of emergency and many places closed and sent folks home. The lab did the same. Many schools are closed today but not LA schools which decided to hold classes. LA county has stable gas supplies but Espanola has ran out in places. Not sure why we faired better.
So I am off today from work officially. Emily and Elizabeth are at school. Gwen and Ruth are both still sleeping in this morning. Ruth is visiting from Tennessee this week.
Emily has been sick again a good bit this week. Hard to keep up with middle school this way. She tries her best and is doing a pretty good job of it.
