Sadden by news of the Stiles Courthouse

I have a thing for Texas courthouses especially ones in small towns or ghost towns. After taking Emily to see the Sherwood Courthouse and see how excited she has been about it then I thought I would drive over toward Big Lake and Midland to show her the Stiles Courthouse in Reagan County.


Here it is before 1999......






But saddly someone gutted it with a fire on their third attempt.

Emily says it still looks like a pretty building. :)
