Gwen and Elizabeth sent to ABQ with Ruth for the day Friday. That left me to myself until Emily got off at around 3:15pm. I visited with Rich for a bit and did the dishes. Then after breakfast I made some Portuguese soup from a recipe off the web. I loved the version the Old Hill Diner used to offer but I never got the recipe from them. It turned out not too bad considering I was talking to Steve the whole time I was putting it together. I do not focus well when cooking and talking. :) It smelled like Portuguese soup and even tasted like it but not quite the same as the Old Hill Diner's.
Speaking of the Hill Diner, while eating breakfast yesterday morning with Steve and Nate there was a fire emergency there. Several fire trucks and EMT trucks showed up. It was before they opened. Not sure what the outcome was when we left. We could see no smoke so whatever it was then it must have been localized in the diner.
After visiting with Steve, I let the soup cook and I worked on laundry. I am sure the girls may have trouble finding clothes for awhile since I was not sure where to put a lot of stuff away at. But I did get a bunch of it washed and folded. Then I went and picked Emily up from school and we walked over to the park near here and sorta played. It was a bit chilly with the wind and the fact half the playground was packed with snow still. So we walked back and watched Facing the Giants again. It is such an uplifting movie.
Nate came over to visit after work and brought a friend's baby he was watching. She was such a cutie. Only a few months old.
The other girls did not get home til around 10pm. Emily was asleep already and I was almost in bed.
Here are a few pictures pulled off of ALB's camera. Mostly ones that she did not take herself.

I thought this one was so sweet.

One of Emily at the park yesterday. It seemed more fun upside down.

My worldview over the last year when I am not standing. Oh well that is the way it has to been. Today I have to take a walk and get some other form of exercise. We will see what the family lets me do.
